Thomas Gabriel ( Grandson of Johnny Cash )
StartMar 28
EndMar 28
T.G. - as those closest to him call him - is the oldest grandchild of Johnny Cash. Predominately raised on the road, he often dreamed of a life as a successful career musician. When he was young, his grandfather would call him onstage, to sing “When the Saints Go Marching In. At 21, he was in the studio trying out his voice. Johnny would say, “Son, you sound a lot like I did when I was younger; work on those vocals.”Johnny also insisted that T.G. have a back-up option, so he went to the police academy, and into police work.Life and adversity has kept him from pursuing his dreams, but he has regained control over his life, and is back in the world that holds so much potential for him.Along with his voice that sounds so much like his grandfather’s, he brings a wealth of stories from his memories of his childhood and of growing up a member of such an iconic family. This is an extremely intimate venue and tickets will be limited. https://www.forbes.com/sites/pamwindsor/2018/11/21/johnny-cashs-grandson-thomas-gabriel-comes-full-circle/?fbclid=IwAR2xpe25UgzDwMuSYvvJP-vtYsvl2FI5WQ5_WQ1dC-CWozbVCJEeoAIgEo0#4d3e2dbb4f13

This is just some of the science that supports our mission and outlines why it’s so beneficial to do good things for others. We call that practicing kyndfulness. #BeKyndBeWell Does this event require special skills? There are no specific skills needed for this event. CAREER EXPERTISE WEBINAR: GETTING STARTED WITH POSITIVE 'OFFICE POLITICS'
StartApr 04
EndApr 04
Navigating the organisational landscape  –  getting started with positive ‘office politics’ ‘Office politics’ very often has negative connotations. However, where there are different people with varying interests, motivations and behaviours, political intelligence will always be necessary for individuals to carry out their roles effectively and progress their careers for personal and organisational benefit. Research indicates that the ‘negative’ aspects of organisational politics adversely affect morale, productivity and profitability and a survey suggests that it is a major cause of stress in the workplace; ultimately not being able to navigate office politics can lead to a career progression barrier. Given this background, people need not only a keen awareness of their political landscape, but more importantly, the skills to manoeuvre effectively around political minefields using a set of behaviours critical to getting things done in a positive way, for all concerned.  Political intelligence is often seen to be a sub-set of emotional intelligence. Join Joanna Gaudoin of Voice At The Table to learn how to navigate the political landscape of your organisation.

Easter Egg Rolling (Foundation Stage and KS1) – 1:30pm – Friday 5th April
StartApr 05
EndApr 05
This year, the school will be officially 10 years old and to celebrate, we are combining this with our annual egg rolling competition (my last!) on Friday 5th April.  The theme for the egg decorations is ‘Arnold Mill’; hopefully this allows you to be really creative with your decorations - perhaps you could decorate the egg as one of the teachers, or a child in AMP school uniform or in a style to represent one of the topics your child has been learning about (this will test if they can remember their topics!)   As usual, the egg should be hard boiled and we would be grateful if you could tell your child that once they have rolled their egg, it will be thrown away.    Two parents/carers per child are invited to attend and also to take part. We cannot have more because of health and safety, so please do not turn up with extra friends or relatives, on the off chance. There are two Easter eggs per class to be won; one for the boy whose egg is closest to the target and one for the closest girl.    The times are as follows:  *   Foundation Stage and KS1 – 1:30 start (this should be finished by 2:15 at the latest) F1am children can be        brought back for the afternoon in order to take part.  *    KS2 – 2:40 start (this will finish by 3:30 at the latest)   To confirm your attendance please visit Eventbrite – https://arnoldmill.eventbrite.com – this will give us a guest list.  If you have children rolling eggs in both sessions, you are welcome to stay in school for the second session.    The pedestrian gate on Cross Street (not Bestwood Avenue) will be opened approximately five minutes before the start times.   The main vehicular access gates leading to the staff car park generally remain closed during the day, if the gate happens to be open please do not park in the car park as you risk being locked in (the gates will remain locked between 3.00 & 3.50pm). Eggs should be brought to school on the morning of 5th April and given to the class teacher for safe keeping.
